    Antique 30′s Swiss army issued tornister kit

    The military issued set consists of:
    – 1932′ cowhide mountaineers rucksack, also know as the Haaraffe tornister.
    – 1938′ mess kit
    – 1930′ bread bag

    These rucksacks were introduced to the Swiss Army in 1898 and remained unchanged until 1950 because of their decent design.

    The bag features multible compartments inside that can be folded open and a small compartment on front.

    The rucksack has an outside covering made of cowhide, this is from where the bag got it’s German nickname ‘haaraffe tornister’, which means ape backpack.
    The inside of the backpack is lined with canvas.

    After 80 years the kit remains in worn condition and shows some traces of wear as it stood the test of being used for years. Over the years it acquired a tornister acquired a distressed patina and shows some bald spots.

    With multiple functions the ‘Parisienne’ was a clever & ideal survival tool; once folded out it can be used as binoculars, it features a compass and a small mirror that can be used for making fire and signals. It was made in the German state of Bavaria.

    It’s an unique curiosity that would be the perfect gift for any hiking fanatic!

    The tool is in a good, functional condition.
    After more than a century it’s case, mirror and glass cover acquired an used patina.

  • Antique Early 1900’s British Leather Gladstone Bag

    Antique early 1900’s leather gladstone bag

    This bag was made in the England and has probably been brought on many trips over the years!
    It can still be used while traveling but it would also be the perfect decor piece for your home or shop!

    The bag is made of brown saddle leather and features two handles on top and two leather straps that can be fastened to secure the bag while it is closed. A longer shoulder strap can be attached on small buckles on both sides.

    After years of use the bag remains in worn condition. It acquired a distressed patina which only adds to its character by giving it a rough touch.
    The leather has been cleaned with leather soap and conditioned with grease and beeswax.

    This intrument was made in the 1930’s by the British luthier company Down South in London.
    Its finish is a perfect example of old school craftmanship!
    It comes with it’s original blue felt lined hard case.

    It’s a very decorative piece of history that would fit perfectly decorating your lodge or cabin!

    Due to time and use the Banjo shows signs of wear. The patina it acquired over the years only adds to its rouch character!
    The piece has been generally cleaned and treated with antique wax.
    Except of minimal treatment I decided to leave the banjo in its original condition and leave it up to the next owner to either keep it that way or fully restore it.

    All sides are decorated with beautiful illustrations of polar bears while its lit is decorated with the national coat of arms of the Netherlands.

    This antique bag was hand made by P. Koetsen & ZN in the city of ‘s-Hertogenbosch and was pressumably used to carry around tools.
    It was made of sturdy saddle leather and is secured with a wooden bottom on the inside.

    The bag would make a decorative addition to any rustic style interior!

    After almost a century it is in a worn condition but still remains strong! The patina it acquired over the years only adds to its rugged character! It has been cleaned with saddle soap and treated with grease and beeswax.

    Antique 193′ Carl Zeiss Jena Telex 6x binoculars

    These antique binoculars were manufactured in the German city of Jena by Carl Zeiss, a company that over the years got famous for the high quality lenses & optical systems!
    The level of craftmanship that was put into these binoculars is hard to find in modern optics and is life-lasting!

    It stills shows its serial number of 123812, which indicated they should be made in the year 1930.
    They come with the original leather case and neck strap.

    This piece would make the perfect gift to any enthousiast of optics & binoculars!

    After almost a century the binoculars still remain in good condition and only show minor signs of use. The subtle patina it acquired over the years only adds to its charm!
