Antique early 1900’s Black Forest folk art bear figure
This antique figure was traditionally hand carved out of a single piece of hard wood in the Swiss city of Luzern in the Black forest area. It’s a fine example of the great craftsmanship the area got famous for and shows beautiful details like its tiny glass eyes! The figure was designed to hold a pen in its paws.
This figure would be the perfect decor piece to display on your desk or in your cabin!
After more than a century the carving only shows minor signs of wear.
In my eyes the patina it acquired over the years only adds more charm to it!
This beautiful instrument was built by the Italian Eko luthier company which became famous for making and exporting professional quality guitars and other stringed instruments worldwide!
It is a perfect example of old school craftsmanship featuring some unique characteristics like several types of wood that were worked into the back of it’s body and pearl details in the headstock.
Underneath the head the banjo equipped with a pickup that can be plugged into an amp.
This unique instrument can still be played but it would also be the perfect decor piece to display in your cabin or lodge!
Considering its age the banjo remains in used, but good & playable condition!
Due to time and use it shows some minor signs of wear.
Except of minimal treatment I decided to leave the banjo in its original condition and leave it up to the next owner to either keep it that way or fully restore it.
