Shot on black-and-white film, the photograph captures a remarkable scene from 1973: the transportation of a gigantic model dinosaur, a Cetiosaurus, on its way to a new prehistoric theme park in Aviemore, Scotland.

The enormous dinosaur model was created by British model maker Alan Ross and measured approximately 5 metres (16.4 ft) high and 14 metres (46 ft) long. Due to its extraordinary size, transporting the model through the streets was no ordinary undertaking. The operation required careful planning, traffic control and police guidance, turning the journey itself into quite a spectacle.

The photograph beautifully captures the sheer scale of the dinosaur in relation to the surrounding vehicles, buildings and people, giving a wonderful sense of just how extraordinary this sight must have been at the time. It is a fascinating snapshot of both 1970s Britain and the imaginative world of prehistoric attractions that fascinated the public during the period.
