This unique piece of folk art was traditionally hand carved out of hard wood in the Black forest area in Switserland. It’s a fine example of the great craftsmanship the area got famous for and shows beautiful details like the rucksack the bear is wearing! The side of the carving is marked with rhonegletscher – 2300 m.

The bag is made of brown leather with croc pattern and features a leather handle on top and two straps that can be fastened to secure the bag while it is closed.

The belt features a leather sheath with 4 meat knives, which are all from the early 1900’s. Some of the knives still show brand marks.
The belt features two beautiful bull shaped buckles in front.

Some of the knives have been sharpened so many times the blades slowly worn smaller. This high quality hand saw was made by the British company of Spear & Jackson in the city of Sheffield

The piece has been treated with antique wax, the leather sheath has been cleaned and treated with grease. The leather strap of the sheath was torn but has been repaired with wire.

Inside it still features blanc paper pages banded with red velvet and a small pencil on top.

It still shows the original makers stamp in the blade.
