    Vintage 60s Italian ice axes

    These vintage ice axes were produced in Premana in the 1960s by the renowned Italian mountaineering equipment maker CAMP – Interalp. The blades still bear the original maker’s stamps — clear marks of authenticity and heritage.

    Once essential tools for navigating icy alpine terrain, they now stand as remarkable pieces of mountaineering history. They make striking decorative elements in any interior or a unique highlight in a collection of vintage sporting gear or alpine memorabilia.

    After 60 years, the ice axes remain in worn but solid condition. Years of use have given them a rugged, oxidized patina that enhances their historical character. To preserve their surface, they have been treated with antique wax, adding both protection and a subtle, aged sheen.

    This authentic vintage tool bag was issued by the SNCF (Société Nationale des Chemins de fer Français), the French national railway company, and used by mechanics to carry their tools on the job. Crafted from thick, high quality saddle leather, the bag features one large main compartment and a smaller front pocket for smaller tools or essentials. In front it still shows SNCF, stamped into the leather.

    Its utilitarian, no-nonsense design makes it a striking decorative piece, ideal for rustic or industrial-style interiors — whether in a workshop, living room, or retail setting.

    After nearly a century, the bag remains in solid, usable condition, though it shows signs of heavy use and age. The leather has developed a beautifully worn patina, enhancing its rugged, timeworn character. One of the original front buckles had come loose but has been secured back in place with neat wire stitches.

    To preserve the leather and enrich its appearance, the bag has been thoroughly cleaned with saddle soap and treated with grease and beeswax. The result is a supple, conditioned surface with a subtle, protective sheen — ready to be displayed or used once again.
