Vintage 40s Hamilton Standard airplane propeller blade
This original aluminum propeller blade was manufactured by Hamilton Standard, the renowned American propeller supplier, during the Second World War. It is marked at the base with the designation DWG 6101A-12, a model used in conjunction with aircraft powered by the Pratt & Whitney R-1340, R-975, and R-985 radial engine series—notably those equipped with 9 ft 0 in or 9 ft 1 in diameter propellers.
These propeller blades were installed on a wide variety of training and utility aircraft, including (but not limited to):
AT-6A, AT-6B, AT-6C, AT-13, AT-15, AT-16, AT-16A, AT-21, BC-1, BC-1A, BT-9B, BT-9C, BT-9D, BT-10, BT-12, BT-13A, BT-15, UC-40A, UC-40B, UC-40D, C-64, and UC-64A
Whether you’re an aviation enthusiast, a collector of WWII memorabilia, or simply a fan of vintage industrial design, this impressive relic is guaranteed to make a striking impression. Its sculptural form and storied past make it an ideal centerpiece for a mancave, office, hangar, or themed interior.
Despite being over 80 years old, the propeller remains in solid condition with authentic signs of age and use. It has developed a beautiful natural patina that enhances its vintage character. The surface has been cleaned, lightly polished, and treated with protective wax to preserve the finish and add a subtle sheen.
