    The painting dates back to the 1800’s and shows Jesus Christ wearing the Crown of Thorns and Latin writing.
    His tormented appearance and stern look combined with the earthy tones and distressed patina give this painting it’s characteristic charm.

    After more than a century the painting remains in worn condition and shows a lovely distressed patina that shows signs of wear like the tiny cracks in the paint surface.

    Antique early 1900’s Italian Mandolin

    This beautiful instrument was built by the master luthiers of G. Puglisi Reale & Figli in Catania – Italy.
    It is a perfect example of old school craftmanship and features some unique characteristics like several types of wood and pearl details that were worked into its neck!
    It also features a turtle shell pickguard, bone tuners and insect like logo on the body.

    After some love this unique instrument might still get playable again but it would also fit perfectly as an unique decor piece into your lodge or cabin!

    After 120 years the mandolin remains in used condition.
    Due to time and use it shows signs of wear.
    The piece has been generally cleaned and treated with antique wax.
    The bridge has been replaces as sadly the original one was missing.
    Except of minimal treatment I decided to leave the banjo in its original condition and leave it up to the next owner to either keep it that way or fully restore it.

    Antique 30’s leather worker boots

    After almost a century of heavy duty these boots remain in worn condition and show a distressed patina. The leather faded nicely due to years of wearing, giving the boots a rugged vintage look!
    The leather has been cleaned with leather soap and has been treated with grease.

    Because of their destressed condition I don’t recommend wearing the boots but they’re still very decorative and would fit perfectly into a shoe shop!

    Antique 1910’s Giles brand boot protectors

    These boot protectors were manufactured by John Giles & Sons Ltd in Bristol – England.
    The set shows a folding display chard with various iron protectors that can be attached to the heels of boots.

    The set still remains complete but shows some signs of wear due to time. After more than a century some of the protectors show an oxidized patina.

    Vintage 1940′ Swiss army medical compartment bag.

    This bag comes with quite a story! At first it was produced and issued by the Swiss army in 1940.
    Wheter the bag has been used in the military is not certain but when in 1953 a disaster struck the Netherlands when multible dikes broke during a heavy storm and huge parts of the country flooded, the bag was sent to the affected areas to supply the wounded.
    That’s how it ended up in the Netherlands all those years ago and probably contributed to saving lives after a huge natural disaster!

    The clever design of this bag can be folded open and is equipped with
    multible compartments for storing medical instruments and supplies.
    With leather straps the bag can be secured while folded up.
    It also features an adjustable leather shoulder strap and a leather handle on top.
    The front cover of the bag has been painted with a swiss flag and red medical cross.

    A true example of Swiss army craftmanship that would fit perfectly into any medical of military collection!

    The leather handle is marked with the initials of its maker, place and the year it was produced in: ‘JOH. Rufener – Blumenstein – 40′.

    The bag remains in used condition and shows signs of wear and use after being heavily used in 1953’.
    The bag shows signs of wear like cracks in the paint of the front cover and some stains in the canvas.
    All leather parts have been treated with leather grease and the painted front has been polished with antique wax.

    This wooden leg has actually been worn and made it possible for its wearer to walk again after losing his, or her lower leg. The prosthesis could be fastened by a leather strap on the wearers stump.

    This is an unique oddity that would fit perfectly in a medical collection or cabinet of curiosities!
    It makes you fantasize about its stories, perhaps it might have been of a pirate or captain Ahab!

    After more than a century the prosthesis remains in used condition and shows signs of wear and time.
    On the top part of the two iron bars used to be a second leather brace that could be fastened around the upper leg of its wearer but sadly this is missing. Also one of the leather straps tore off during the cleaning proces. I glued it back on.
    The iron and wooden parts have been treated with antique wax and all leather parts have been cleaned and treated with leather grease.

    This unique tool was issued by the British army during the First World War to their cavalry men and were used to sketch enemy positions, trenches, landscape features, and record data during the First World War.

    Although this sketching board is small it’s design is smart and packed full of useful features. The two side bars act as rollers allowing a long piece of paper or map to be rolled across the board. It also has a compass, ruler, scales and a gadget called a clinometre. This is for measuring the angle of a slope.The sturdy leather strap was used to secure it to your forearm so that it could be used whilst on horseback.

    The bottom rear of the board has the manufacturer information listed: Houghton – Butcher, London – 1916
    It’s also marked with the name of it’s owner: J.W. KAYE, it’s serial number and two british broad arrow stamps.

    It would fit into any WWI or British army collection!

    Even after more than a century this piece still remains in good condition and only shows minor signs of use and wear!

    The outer layer of the bag is made of canvas in olive-green color.
    The schoulder- & front straps and bottom are made of very robust, strong saddle leather.
    The leather parts have been cleaned and oiled, making the bag more flexible and comfortable to wear!

    The leather on the back is marked with origional initials of the first owner and year.

    The bag still remains in used but good condition!
    The Backpack stood the test of being used for years and will last just as long!

    Vintage 1945′ WWII era Swiss army issued cowhide mountaineers rucksack,
    also know as the Haaraffe tornister.

    These very rucksacks were introduced to the Swiss Army in 1898 and
    remained unchanged until 1950 because of their decent design.

    The bag has multible compartments inside and one on front.

    The rucksack has an outside covering made of cowhide, this is from where
    the bag got it’s German nickname ‘haaraffe tornister’, which means ape backpack.
    The inside of the backpack is lined with canvas type of military fabric.

    It is in a vintage condition. It shows some traces of wear as it stood the test of being used for years.
    Some of the hairs have come off of the cow skin outer lining.
    The leather parts and straps got more flexible, but are still strong.
