It was mounted in a leaning position on a branch on a solid base.

A century of use has made these even more charming!

After a century the leather faded nicely due to years of use, giving the chairs a rugged vintage look! The Chairs show distressed patina which only adds to their character by giving them a rough touch.

The remaining chair shows lots of rips and tears which I patched up by attaching leather patches.

Prehistoric Juvenile Cave Bear Jaw Bone

    125.00

Prehistoric 30.000 y/o pleistocene cave bear cub jaw bone – ‘Ursus spelaeus’

The Cave Bear was a massive omnivore that lived in Europe during the Pleistocene period and became extinct around 28,000 years ago.
This enormous animal is thought to be a relative to today’s brown bear but it was significantly larger.
Adult males averaged half a ton in weight, and when standing on their hind legs they were up to 10 feet tall!
That would put them comparably in size to the largest of modern-day Kodiak and Polar bears.
This jaw used to belong to a juvenile bear that must have died at a very young age.
The bone has been found inside a cave, deep into the Carpathian mountains.

An unique and very decorative piece that would fit perfectly into your collection or cabinet of curiosities!

The jaw remains in damaged condition.
All of the molar teeth are missing, just its grown canine, that has not yet swapped, still remains inside the front of the jaw.

This beautifel animal was shot in Oregon – USA, in the 1960’s. It was professionally mounted in very natural looking proportions in a resting position on a branch.
The piece used to belong to a large collection of taxidermy that I took over from a man who had lived in America for 30 years and wanted to get rid of it all after immigrating back to Europe.
Despite the fact that hunting predators goes against my moral principles I hope to find a nice destination for this beautiful animal where it will be admired and not just be seen as a trophy.
