Antique 19th Century Black Forest Bear Statue
Antique early 1900’s folk art wooden bear statue
This characteristic bear statue was traditionally made in the Black Forest area in Germany.
It’s robustly hand carved out of a single oak log and shows a roaring bear standing on its hind legs holding a salmon.
The carving is a unique piece that would fit perfectly decorating a cabin, lodge or cabinet of curiosities!
Due to time the carving shows signs of wear like the small cracks in the wood that only add to its charm by giving the bear its robust look.
