Antique 1930s F.Ralling Mountaineering Axe

Vintage 1930s Austrian Ice Axe – “Himalaya Pickel Model – Kuno Rainer”

This vintage ice axe was produced in the 1930s by the renowned Austrian company Felix Ralling. The model, named Himalaya Pickel – Kuno Rainer, features the original maker’s stamp on the blade and comes complete with its original leather sheath.

This finely crafted piece of alpine equipment would still serve well in rugged mountain conditions, but it also makes a unique and eye-catching decorative piece for any interior, cabin, or mountaineering collection.

After nearly a century, the axe shows signs of age and use, including an oxidized patina that enhances its rugged, authentic character. The wood and metal have been treated with antique wax to protect the surface and give it a subtle, glossy finish.
