Antique 1920’s Black Forest wooden roe mount
This antique mount was traditionally hand carved out of hard wood in the Black forest area in Switserland or Germany. It is a fine example of the great craftsmanship the area got famous for and shows beautiful details.
It would be the perfect decor piece to display in your cabin or cabinet of curiosities!
After a century the carving still remains in good condition but shows subtle signs of wear. In my eyes the patina it acquired over the years only adds more charm to it!
The carving is treated with antique wax to give the wooden surface a subtle glossy finish.
