Vintage 50’s French Pole Climbing Spikes
Vintage 50’s French Lacoste climbing spikes
Spikes like these were used by lineman for climbing telephone poles.
Fitted with these spikes, which were fastened around the wearer’s lower leg with leather straps, the lineman could climb a pole by kicking the pointed ends into the trunk with each step up.
These spikes would fit perfectly decorating your cabin, lodge or ranch home!
After 70 years these spikes remain in used condition. Due to years of use the iron surface shows an oxidiced patina.
The iron parts habe been treated with a layer of antique wax, the leather parts have been treated with leather greece.
