Vintage Taxidermy Kingfisher – Alcedo atthis

This beautiful vintage kingfisher originates from Germany and dates back to the 1950s. The iconic bird has remarkably well preserved its vivid blue and orange coloration and is expertly mounted in a dynamic diving pose, perched on a natural tree stump.

A rare and atmospheric piece, and a unique opportunity to add one of the most striking birds native to our region to a collection, cabinet of curiosities, or characterful interior.

Despite its considerable age, the specimen remains in good condition. Naturally, it shows light signs of age consistent with its history, which only add to its authentic character. Over the years it has remained free from pest damage and shows no bald spots or feather loss.
