Antique 1922′ oil portait of a Belgian WWI soldier
The painting dates back to the early 1900s and shows a moustached soldier wearing his Belgian uniform with charateristic Adrian helmet featuring the lions head in front.
Just below collar of his jacket the painting was signed and dated by the artist saying “Ysero – 22”.
The man’s stately appearance and stern look combined with the dark and earthy tones give this painting it’s characteristic charm.
It would fit perfectly decorating your gentleman’s room, shop or barber shop!
After more than a century the painting got a lovely patina that shows signs of wear like the tiny cracks in the paint surface. Sadly over the years the canvas endured some tiny tears.
The wooden frame has been treated with a layer of antique wax.

Antique early 1900’s British wooden barber shop trade sign
This unique piece used to decorate the ‘Winston Taylor’ barber shop saying “Since 1892 – A Cut of Quality”.
The wooden sign was custom made, painted in red with golden stripes and decorated with actual scissors in the middle as a recognizable symbol.
Antique trading signs like this one are extremely rare, rarely have I come across one as beautiful and characteristic as this sign!
It would be the perfect eye catcher for a barber shop, man cave or your home!
After a century the signboard shows a patina due to time and wear that, in my opinion, makes it even more characteristic!
