Vintage 50’s Unicon archtop guitar
This instrument was built by the Dutch luthier company of Unicon and dates back to the 1950’s.
This old boy has some bluesy roots!
This unique guitar would be the perfect decor piece to display on the wall of a bar, cabin or mancave!
After 70 years the guitar shows signs of wear. The former owner choose to replace the neck for a new one with a truss rod. In order to make it seem originial he hand painted the Unicon logo in the headstock. He also replace the bridge and tail piece and installed a pick up and a input in the bottom, making it possible to plug it into an amplifier!
Due to many years of playing the guitar acquired a nice patina which only adds more charm to it by giving it a relic look! Sadly two of the tuner don’t rotate to well.
Except of minimal treatment and replacing the strings I decided to leave the guitar in its original condition and leave it up to the next owner to either keep it that way or fully restore it.
With minimal adjustments it could be made into a cool slide guitar!
