Antique 20’s Amputation Saw from Mental Hospital
Antique 20’s amputation saw
This saw was actually used to operate on patients in the psychiatric hospital of Brinkgreven in the Dutch city of Deventer, which has been operational since 1900. After years of use by the doctors at the facility, the piece ended up in the museum, which was established to commemorate the hospital’s history.
The saw shows original markings of the manufacturer
This is an unique oddity that would fit perfectly in a medical collection or cabinet of curiosities!
Due to years and use the saw shows marks of use but remains in good condition.
