This antique statue was traditionally hand carved out of a single piece of hard wood in the Black forest area in Germany or Switserland. It’s a fine example of the great craftsmanship the area got famous for and shows beautiful details!

After more than a century the carving shows signs of wear. After more than a century the carving shows signs of wear. Unfortunately the legs broke off but were glued back together, this is only visible up close.
In my eyes the patina it acquired over the years only adds more charm to it!
