Antique early 1900’s Italian jewellery box

This unique chest is made out of mahogany and shaped like a row of books. It’s velvet lined and decorated with wooden inlay on top showing a laying man smoking a pipe.

It would be the perfect piece to store all your jewellery or trinkets in.

After more than a century the box still remains in good condition but shows signs of wear.
Over the years it acquired a nice patina which only adds more charm to it.
One of the tiny hinged has been repaired by sticking a nail right trough.
