This large oil portrait depicts a bearded gentleman dressed in traditional hunting attire, adorned with several military medals on his left chest.
It was presumably painted in Germany or Austria and is signed and dated in the upper right corner: “Hartong – 1906.”

The man’s stately presence and stern expression, combined with the dark, earthy tones, give the painting its distinctive and dignified character. The portrait is painted on canvas and presented in its original gilded wooden frame.

It would make a striking statement piece in a classic gentleman’s room, study, or vintage-style barber shop.
