Antique late 19th century toggle head whaling harpoon
No, this is no orc spear or some other movie prop but you might consider this an as cruel device.
This is an actual whaling harpoon, used by the Dutch whaling fleet in the late 1800’s!
The design of this harpoon was called a toggle head as the tip hinges so that the harpoon remains anchored after a direct hit.. Yes, that is as cruel as it sounds.
Despite the fact that the whaling is a terrible occupation this relic remains a true piece of history that probably has lots of tales attached to it!
The harpoon comes with a custom made wooden display stand.
It would fit perfectly into any whaling or nautical collection!

Chairs like this one were brought along from African colonies back to Europe where they were kept to decorate trophy rooms as exotic curiosities!
Handcrafted with real cow horns and leather it has this rustic, tribal look to it that gives it its characteristic charm! Admitted it does not sit very comfortably it was never meant to as chairs like this one were kept purely for their decorative, exotic looks! It’s design is one of a kind and reminds of beasts from far away places.
This unique piece would fit perfectly decorating your trophy room, man cave or cabinet of curiosities!
After more than a century the chair still remains in good condition and only shows minor signs of wear and use. The leather shows a nice patina that only adds to its rough character!

Vintage European badger taxidermy mount – ‘Meles meles’
This beautiful animal was a victim of a roadkill. After it was found dead it has professionally been mounted by the famous Dutch taxidermy company of Bouten. They did a very good job as the badger is mounted in very accurate, natural looking proportions and position with its mouth open showing its teeth. It was mounted in a leaning position on a branch on a solid base.
This chap derserves a nice home where it will be admired and loved. It would probably fit perfectly into a cabin, lodge or cabinet of curiosities!
The badger remains in good condition. It’s hair still feels soft and doesn’t show bald spots.
