Antique 1910’s WWI Portrait of a Belgian Lieutenant Colonel
€195.00
Antique 1910’s WWI portrait of a Belgian Lieutenant Colonel
This unique portrait shows a graphite and watercolor drawing of a moustached Lieutenant Colonel wearing his Belgian uniform. On his chest he is wearing three official medals; the Officer’s Cross, the Cross for Mobilization 1914-1918 and the Order of the Belgian Crown with swords.
The man’s stately appearance and stern look combined with the dark and earthy tones give this portrait its characteristic charm.
It would fit perfectly decorating your gentlemans room, shop or barber shop!
After more than a century the portrait remains in good condition but shows signs of wear.
The surface of the portrait has been treated with clear varnish to add a protective layer over the graphite and watercolor drawing.
