Antique Early 1900’s Inuit Folk Art Kayak
Antique early 1900’s Inuit folk art kayak
This antique miniature was traditionally made by the Inuit people in Greenland in the early 20th century.
The kayak was made out of animal skin with bone and wooden details whilest the figure on top was made of cloth, holding a wood & bone made oar.
This is an unique curiosity that would be the perfect decor piece to display in your cabin, lodge or ranch!
After more than a century the piece remains in worn condition. The skin that stretches around the kayak’s frame shows some old patch repairs. The patina it got over the years only adds to its charm!
