Antique 30’s warderobe steamer trunk
This trunk was manufactured in the 1930’s by Harwen Trunk MFG in Hong Kong.
The sterdy design of this compact case can be folded open and is equipped with clothing hangers on extendable rails and a bottom compartment on one side and drawers on the other, making it ideal for storing clothing and other belongings while traveling! Trunks like these were brought along by traveling passangers on ships, carriages and trains.
In addition to its functional value, the trunk has a very sturdy and stylish finish with its dark green color, blue and yellow stripes and blue linen inner lining!
It would still come in handy to take with you while traveling but it would also be an unique furniture piece to store your warderobe or use as a night stand!
After being dragged around the world for almost a century the trunk remains in worn condition and shows some wear due to use and time. Though the patina it got over the years only adds to it character in my eyes!
The outside of the trunk has been restored by repainting some of the green paint. After that it has been coated with transparent lacquer to give the surface a protective layer and a glossy finish.
All the metal latches, clamps and corner protectors have been polished to give them back their gloss as well.

It comes with it’s original cotton travel bag.
